Built over a Victorian Graving Dock the Museum,the museum will take you on an extraordinary journey through the lives of the people who transformed Barrow from a small farming village at the beginning of the 19th century into a major industrial town. Puzzling Place is a fixed location Tourist Attraction that opened to the public in Museum Square, Keswick on the 7th of July 2001. It is the product of two years work by local brothers Tim and Andrew. Our aim was to open a gallery style exhibition that was different to anything experienced before, both in content and the relaxed, informal ambience of the place that couples education with the elements of fun and surprise.

Our experienced guides adapt our tours to interest people of all ages & written children's guides have been created for the museum. Drop in to our family activity room opposite Dove Cottage & enjoy a range of avtivities.
Family Activity room open daily, 10am - 5pm, closed for lunch 12noon - 2pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
