2009 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Cornelia Connelly, the founder of the Sisters of the Holy Child, Jesus,. It was the Sisters who opened this school on its present site, in the heart of Edgbaston, in 1936. Today we continue her vision of providing an education “to meet the wants of the age” within a happy, safe and secure environment where each child is confident in the knowledge that they are valued for their own unique gifts. Our focus is on discovering and developing the talents and abilities of each pupil, ensuring they exceed their own expectations. To this end, we provide an incredibly diverse range of opportunities for each child to fulfil themselves academically, artistically, spiritually, culturally and in sport.

The Shrubbery School was founded in 1930 by Miss Janice Rankin. It is the longest established fully co-educational school for three to eleven year olds in the area, and presently has 285 children on roll. The school is set in the leafy suburbs and enjoys very pleasant surroundings.

West House, which was founded as a day and boarding preparatory school for boys in 1895, is a charitable trust run by a Board of Governors. Today, it is a preparatory day school for boys between the ages of 4 and 11, with the co-educational West House Nursery caring for children from twelve months.

The Westwood School was opened in 1974 and completed in 1980. The school is located on a large attractive
landscaped campus in the southwest of the city. It is directly adjacent to The Westwood Business Park and the
University of Warwick and is ideally situated to promote strong links between higher education and business. We are
fortunate in receiving sponsorship and support from local businesses for the celebration of student achievement and
development of the school.We are a designated Technology College. We are an 11-18 comprehensive school maintained by Coventry Local Education Authority. As a community college we cater for students age 11 to 19 and also welcome adults returning to study. We are co-educational. We are non-denominational (no particular religious affiliation). Wolverhampton Grammar School places scholarship at the heart of a challenging education which promotes achievement through active involvement. An Independent Co-Educational Day School for pupils aged 3-16 years.

Pupils are accepted at any age from 3½ to 14 years following a parental visit, an informal assessment and an interview with the Headmaster. Older prospective pupils are required to attend the school for a more formal academic assessment and interview.

Using the DCSF's "Value added" measure of schools' performance criteria, Bowbrook House has been in the top 5% in the country for the last four years. In 2004, first place out of all the schools in Worcestershire was followed with second in 2005 and this has been maintained by the pupils for the last two years.
