Bristol Cathedral Choir School welcomes boys and girls aged 11-18 from all backgrounds and of all abilities, providing them with an excellent all-round education. In September 2008, BCCS became an Academy: the first choir school in the country to do so. This meant the School ceased charging fees to parents. As an Academy, we have the flexibility to meet the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century and to make our contribution to a changing educational environment both within the city of Bristol and nationally.

In September 2008 we welcomed our first young men into our Sixth Form and in September 2009 we will begin the process of becoming fully co-educational at secondary level - an exciting new phase of our development.

Colston's School was founded in 1710 by the Bristol philanthropist, Edward Colston.
The school moved from the centre of the city to a former palace of the Bishop of Bristol, at Stapleton, in 1857.
Colston's places a very high priority on the pastoral care of each boy and girl in its care. All members of the teaching and boarding staff have a responsibility for ensuring the well being of each individual.
Although Colston's is predominantly a day school, there is a significant and vibrant boarding community, giving the school its unique character and atmosphere.

Gracefield Preparatory School is located approximately 3 miles to the West of Bristol’s city centre in the suburban area of Fishponds. We are very proud of our school and are committed to delivering high quality education to all of the children in our care.

Queen Elizabeth's Hospital is no ordinary school. These pages show a little of those special qualities which make QEH unique, but you need to visit and meet the boys to understand fully why QEH is so different from other schools in Bristol and beyond.

With only 550 Senior and 80 Junior day pupils, we know every boy. Individuals matter: there's space for a boy to be himself. Visitors comment on the friendliness and confidence of the boys, and the boys speak about how well they get on with each other and the staff.

We are academically selective but not socially exclusive. There's a good mix of people at QEH. With a curriculum specifically tailored to meet boys' needs, examination results for boys at QEH are second to none in Bristol.
