Herne Hill School is an independent Pre-Prep and Nursery well known within its area of South-East London as an oasis of happy learning and as the largest feeder into the Dulwich Foundation Schools. We are an accredited member of the Independent Schools Association and of the Independent Schools Council.

King’s College School is one of the most successful and prestigious schools in the UK. Founded in 1829, it has, over the years, distinguished itself as a school whose exceptional academic standards sit easily beside great endeavour and success in a wide range of sports, music, drama and other activities. These qualities have helped KCS reach the top of national league tables and enjoy one of the best sporting records of any school in the South East. Boys have recently been chosen to perform in the West End (The History Boys, Billy Elliot, etc), in major films (The Kite Runner, Prince Caspian, United 93, etc) and selected for the highest honours in music. And yet, all pupils, parents and staff at KCS are agreed: even more important than this success is the pastoral system which supports every pupil, helping each one to feel – as he is – a vital part of the ‘King’s family’. From 2010, we shall be admitting into our Sixth Form the first girls to King’s.

Merlin School

Newland House School provides a happy, friendly environment that enables children to thrive. They enjoy coming to school and value that sense of belonging, which binds a strong, caring community. Each pupil, though very much an individual, learns to take responsibility for helping others. All are encouraged to involve themselves fully in the many and varied activities on offer. We are enormously proud of their achievements in so many different areas but one of the greatest pleasures is to see how much they value and support each other’s successes. A successful education involves a partnership between pupil, parents and teachers and we consider the links between home and school to be of crucial importance.

Newton is a relatively new school, having been set up in 1991 when it opened with just 70 pupils. They would not recognise the school today. What is now the Millennium Hall was the dining room, two of the reception classrooms were the library, the library was the hall, there was nothing where the dining room, gym and undercrofts were, no modern classrooms and no Astroturf! The top floor and multispace were the rooftop, the area where the changing rooms now are was a small grassy area and the auditorium was but a dream.

Northcote Lodge School

Oakfield School is a coeducational preparatory school situated in the leafy outskirts of Dulwich Village. With over 450 boys and girls aged between 2 and 11, it is set in a spacious campus based around four magnificent Victorian villas. Sport has a high profile in the life of the school and makes full use of the exceptional sports facilities within the Dulwich Estate.
