Welcome to the Ladies’ College, a friendly, vibrant school conveniently situated on Les Gravees, one of the main routes into St Peter Port, Guernsey and providing an excellent education for girls aged from two and a half to 18 years. We are justly proud of our outstanding academic reputation but here your daughter will also have the opportunity to excel in a wide range of musical, sporting and creative activities.

Why choose us for your daughter? Above all, because we are specialists in educating girls. If you have both sons and daughters you will already know that they learn in very different ways. We recognise those differences and can provide an education geared specifically to girls’ needs. We believe there should be no limitations on their ambitions, either professionally or personally. We provide a safe, risk-taking environment where girls can concentrate on their learning without fear of being put down or dismissed. An environment in which there is no shame in working hard or being successful.

Whilst the school has a rich and vibrant history it is also forward-thinking and outward–looking. We recognise that the world in which our pupils will live and work is ever-changing and we are continually developing both our curricular and extra-curricular provision to ensure that all girls leave having acquired the skills and developed the qualities they will need.

Hunterhouse is an enjoyable place in which to learn and teach and our caring ethos is frequently identified as a key strength within the school. We also encourage all girls to strive for excellence whilst recognising the importance of developing the individual as a whole.
