Rushmoor School is an independent day school, which caters for children from 3 to 16 years (girls from 3 to 11).
Rushmoor is a school of mixed ability, mixed race, mixed creed and mixed social background reflecting both the nature of Bedford and the position of the school within the independent educational provision of the area. The diversity of the school is one of its strengths. However, it does also mean that Rushmoor has to cater for the many different needs of the individual pupils and parents. This requires considerable flexibility from both teachers and the system as a whole, to ensure the best educational opportunity for each one of our pupils.

Founded in 1896 St Andrew’s is a small Independent School for girls age 3-16 and for boys age 3-9. St Andrew’s provides an education for the whole child which combines traditional values with the best of current practice.

St Andrew’s has flourished by providing a strikingly different environment in which to learn. Each pupil’s individuality is highly valued, fostered and developed. Pastoral care is outstanding.

Small classes are the key to success for each girl or boy in developing new skills and achieving her or his full potential. Pupils are expected to work hard, but we also know the value of fun and relaxation and pupils have many opportunities to take part in a wide range of extra activities.

St Andrew’s is a small school with high expectations and big ambitions for your child. We look forward to welcoming you to the school very soon.

We are an HMC co-educational day/boarding school of some 950 pupils aged 4 to 18. The Preparatory School caters for the 4-11 year olds at one end of the village, whilst a brisk walk through our parkland brings you out into the ‘Castle’ grounds which house the Senior School. We are fortunate to have such an attractive campus, centred on Kimbolton Castle – purchased from the Dukes of Manchester in the middle of the last century.

As the School expands and improves, additional buildings are being added. A new Prep School Assembly Hall opened in January 2006, the exciting, innovative Queen Katharine Building on the Senior School campus has just opened and our second astro turf pitch (with floodlights) is now in use. Some exciting new developments are in the pipeline as part of our next School Development Plan which was published in December 2008.

We are a leading independent prep school with 370 boys and girls aged 4 - 13. We are large enough to provide a full range of options and facilities, but small enough to give a 'family feel' where the teachers can get to know all of the children. The school enjoys an excellent academic reputation, with a pleasing number of leavers winning scholarships to senior schools in various disciplines.
